Course Director:
Dr Sue Kearney is the Clinical Director for the North West Imaging Academy, Senior Examiner for the RCR 2B FRCR examination and has many years experience in teaching CXR interpretation to trainee radiologists and reporting radiographers.
CXR Reporting is a comprehensive course to support reporting practitioners in CXR interpretation. The course is aimed at practising reporting radiographers who have recently completed a PG Cert in CXR interpretation, trainee reporting radiographers currently attending a PG Cert, and radiologists in training.
Course Aim. To provide the reporting practitioner with the necessary knowledge and skill to deliver an accurate and unambiguous reports which answer the clinical question, describes a tentative or differential diagnosis and where appropriate includes advice regarding the next step.
Course Delivery. The course is delivered over 5 days at the North West Imaging Academy, Edge Hill University Medical School.
Course Content. The course topics for each day are detailed below. Prior to each day of teaching, 40 CXRs specific to the topics for the day, will be shared with you. You will be expected to review, record and submit your opinion for these CXR before each day. At the teaching the CXRs will be reviewed and discussed with relevant additional imaging including CT scans. There will also be a couple of short presentations on the topic areas. The teaching will be kept very informal to encourage you to ask lots of questions, and there is also the opportunity to bring along your own cases for discussion if we have time.
The content of course is the same as the 12 week CXR course delivered by Dr Kearney in 2021 and 2022 and therefore not recommended for those who attended previously.
